Vacant Falls Acme giving way to Rite Aid, two restaurants

Workers are demolishing a vacant Acme supermarket at West Trenton Avenue and Pine Grove Road in Falls to make way for a 14,000-square-foot Rite Aid drugstore, a 6,000-square-foot restaurant and a 2,500-square-foot restaurant. All will be standalone buildings, said Tom Verrichia, owner of the Doylestown-based Verrichia Co. that is doing the redevelopment. He said the restaurants can’t be named yet because lease negotiations are underway and deals have not been finalized. Verrichia said construction of the Rite Aid should start in August, and the store tentatively is scheduled to open in June 2017. The restaurants should open by September 2017, he said. “That’s our goal,” Verrichia said.
