Horsham Village Plaza is a Step Closer to Fruition

Internal demolition of four Horsham structures was completed last month, and now external demolition will begin to clear the buildings from the lot to make way for the Horsham Village Plaza in the near future.

With internal demolition on four structures at the northwest corner of the intersection of Easton and Blair Mill roads in Horsham completed, work will now move outside this week as external demolition begins.

Two of the four buildings are on commercial lots — one of which formerly housed The Intelligencer’s Horsham office and the other, the Williamsons Banquet building. The remaining two are residential rental properties. They all will be cleared in about 30 days and ready for the incoming Horsham Village Plaza.

Construction of the new plaza is expected to begin by March 2018, said Rebecca Devine, a spokeswoman for The Verrichia Co., the Doylestown Borough-based developer building the plaza.

The site is expected to hold a 5,585-square foot “super” Wawa with six fuel pumps, allowing for 12 vehicles to fuel up at once, and a 12,900-square-foot CVS pharmacy with a drive-thru. The Wawa and CVS Pharmacy are expected to open in fall 2018.

The remaining 17,200 square feet will be encompassed by three pad sites available for lease. The sites will accommodate two proposed restaurants and a specialty retailer, according to Devine.

TVC received approval from Horsham’s Council in January to develop the land.

TVC also will install a new traffic light at the intersection of Blair Mill and Gibraltar roads that connects to the signal at Easton and Blair Mill roads.

Developer Tom Verrichia said in October that he believes the plaza will bring “an improved shopping experience and selection” and “exciting dining opportunities” to the community.
